Witson Fiinr.—This gentleman, who became

Sheriff, upon hearing of the affair went in pursuit of the assassins, but did not succeed in getting on their trail.
A Chileno was killed at Todd’s Valley on the
night of the 13th, while attempting to rob sluice
boxes. The members of the company having a
suspicion that their boxes were robbed, set one
of their number to watch them. Ina short time
i he discovered three persous at work with pans,
&c , cleaning up the siuices. Not desisting from
their rascality when warned off, the watchman
fired, and one of the men dropped dead, The
other two rushed upon the guard, but another
shot wounding one of them, they took to their
heels, and mad¢ their escape, which is regarded
as the unforttinate part of the affair,
From the Iowa Hill News, we learn that a fatal affray occurred at King’s Hill, on Tuesday,
the 16th between a mulatto and a Spaniard.
The difficulty commenced over a game of cards;
. the Spaniard used his knife with trifling effect
and the mulatto a shot gun, the charge from
which took effect in the Spaniard’s breast and
arm. He died immediately. No arrest has
been made.
Tux Burvev, Tracepy.--We announced last
week in our telegraphic dispatch, that the jury
in the case of Mrs. Cunningham, accused of the
murder of Dr Burdell,. had found a verdict of
not guilty. From the evidence before them no
other verdict could have been found. The theory set up by Coroner Connery at the inquest,
seemed to superficial observers to be sufficient

Suicipe.—A man named Ensign Church, who .

to do any thing for him, and he died in a short .
time. It appears he had bought the vials of .
laudanum at three different drug stores in towa, .
and must have taken it after getting back to the
house. He had seventeen dollars in his pocket, .
which was appropriated towards his funeral expenses.
Mr, Church was about thirty-two years old, .
Ohio, where his relatives now reside. He was .
a printer by trade, and formerly editor and .
propritor of the Canfield Sentinel. Several .
. Feraps of paper were found in the room, on
. waich he bad been writing. The following is
all that was legible:

Mr. James Srark.—The engagement of this .

kind ever witnessed in Nevada.
