evil da Democvar, ———"",0CAL MATTERS. grate AND County Taxes.—The Super-sisors have levied the County tax, for the year 1862, amounting in all to $1 38 on the-hundred dollars, as follows: General fund, 53’ cents; special fund, 40 cents, indigent sick fund, 10 . gents; road fund 5 cents. To this must be added the regular State tax of 62 cents, which will makea total of two dollars taxes onevery yundred dollars valuation. ‘Bhe Board have waited a couple of days, in hopes that the Legislature would make some disposition of the Hill for collecting’ the war tax. The revenue . law requires the Supervisors to levy tax prior to the first Monday in March; to add thereto the State tax, and furnish the Assessor acertified copy of the ordér, so that he can commence his work. The Board will adjourn this evening, and wnless information can be obtained by telegraph of some defiinite action on the billl lately pending before the Legislature, no levy can be made for the war tax. . Tue WeatHerR.—The change of the moon . yesterday was accompanied by a change of) weather. During the afternoon and evening the wind turned round from the southwest, to the northwest, and last night was clear and cold, the ice forming to the thickness of a quar. terofaninch. The sky has been clear to-day, . and the weather mild and pleasant. DELAYED.—In consequence of the non-arrival of printing paper, ordered from below, the . proprietors of the Nevada Journal will not be able to issue their paper on Monday, as they intended. The paper is somewhere this side of Saeramento, and the first number of the Journal will be issued as soon as it arrive. Roap Disrxicts.—On the first page of this. paper, will be found a description of the boundaries of the road districts of the county, with the names of the Overseers. Changes have been made in several of the districts,. and the descriptions of others revised with the: view of: making them more intelligible. Court oF Sessrons.—This Court meets in regular term on Monday next, to dispose of the —— criminal business that has accumulated in the past four months. The Grand Jury will be convened probably on Wednesday, Mart Detrention.—lIn consequence of damages to the railroad, and the détention of the ears, the mail stages from Limeoln, due im the evening,. are now détained until about’ two At the Hook & Ladifer Co’s House, o’clock in the afternoon of the next day. HospitaL PATIENTS.—Tén patients were: admitted into the County Hospital during the mgnth of February, and about the same num-ber were discharged. MILITARY.—A meeting was held at Grass Valley, last Saturday evening, and preliminary steps taken for the organization of a military company.
