Determimep To Diz.—A young lady came into Dr. Wickes’ drug store yesterday afternoon,
and reqnested the Doctor to give her a dose of
“cold pisin’’—something that would take her
“out of the worldeasy.”’ She told a long story
about how her brother-in-law abused her, and
expressed a determination to live no longer.
The Doctor declined to furnish her with the necessary drug, and tried to impress upon her
he found the poison bad done its work. Four
panthers, measuring not less than eight feet
from tip to tip, were discovered dead within a
few rods of where the sheep had been left.
Lavp Sates.—The Humboldt 7imes says, the
sale of public lands in that District commenced
at the office in Humboldt, on the 14th ult, and
ended on the 17th. All the Jands advertised, .

she was arrested some time since on a charge
of insanity; but tiere being a doubt as to whether sbe was insane or idiotic, she was discharged.

arrested on Saturday, and brought before Justice Smith, on a charge of an assault with intent to kill L. N. Scott, It seems that Parker
and Scott got into a difficulty about the dividing lines of their mining claims. Words led

Gexenovs.—The Division of the Sons of Temperance, at Michigan Bluffs, raised a contribution of sixty dollars, one evening last week,
which was presented to the widow of the late
Capt. Halsey, who was accidentally killed at .
that place, about two weeks ago, while at work
in his mining claim.
Ecropran Bankers.—The several firms of De
Rothschild have a capital or sum at their instantaneous command amounting to $200,000,000; the similar capital of the two Pereires is

Citizens the right to build a Side Walk.
The Trustees of the City of Nevada do Ordain as follows :
The y holders and citizens residing on or near
Boulder street shall have the right and they are hereby
required to construct a side walk along the south side of
Boulder street ; to commence at or near the house known
as A. Sanford’s lime house and running thence along the
said south side to Main street. Said sike walk to be made
of plank and not to exceed five feet in width, and to be
constructed in such ® manner as not to interfere materially with the use of said street.
