WensTER.—In referring to the death of Alexander Webster, in our last, we stated that he had been badly beaten in Armstrong’s saloon, on Broad street, the night before he left. We have since beem informed that he was beaten by one Dormond,on the street, in the eax}ly part of the evening, and that he was not hurtin the saloon. Tt seems that he lost his money at a gambling table. r t Nevada the next morning he was bby badaiit much hurt, but. his death was attributed to an injury in the side. IlypRANTS.—-Our attention has been called to the fact that there ave four or five hydrants, ‘belonging to the city, lying exposed in the ‘street near Helm’s stable. One of them has deen run over by a wagon aad broken, and the ethers will soon be destroyed unless taken care ef. The city has no immediate use for the hydrants, but some of those now im use may yet be broken or otherwise damaged, when the extra hydrants would come in play. At any Fara AccIpDENt.—We learn from the driver of the Orleans Flat stage, that Mr. Thomas Kershaw was killed, about four o’clock yesterday evening, by the caving of a tunnel at Wolsey’s Flat. Messrs, Fox and Hickman were badly hurt at the same time—Mr. H. having bis shoulder dislocated or broken, and Mr. F. an erm broken. Opp Fxziiows’ Hatu.—Mr. J. H. Helm has taken a contract to grade the lot next below the National Exchange, upon which the Odd Fellows’ Hall is to be erected, and will commence the work next Monday. The Hall js to be thirty-nine feet front by one hundred feet deep, and two stories high. Doc Fieut.—The lovers of such amuse~ ments will not forget that a great dog fight, between “Boxer” and ‘‘Saker” comes off at the Glenbrook Course next Saturday afternoon. It is expected to be one, of the most interesting entertainments of the kind that has yet taken place in the county. Ratx.—It commenced raining about seven o'clock last evening, and continued until this morning. To-day we have had alternate sunshine and cloud, the atmosphere being chilly, and the wind in the south, indicating a continuance of unsettled weather. ReParReD.—The Broadfstreet bridge, which was nearly destroyed by the floods of last winter, has been repaired and is agaim passable for teams, New Finm.—We learn that Mx. L. C. Wickes has purchased an interest im Spence’s drug store, on Broad street. NevVADA Terrrrory Irems. -_ be following items are from the Carson City Age, of the 22d inst: The citizens of Placerville are said to be exerting themselves manfully in the task of repairing the road from that place to this Territory. Gentlemen who ved here yesterday state that the snow is yet 18 feet deep on the summit, and that the mud near Placerville is almost bottomless.
