Tus Harpy TriaL,—A vote was taken in the Senate on Wednesday, in the Hardy Impeachment case, and resulted in bis acquittal on all the charges. It requires a two-third vote to conviet; but at the time of writing this we bave not learned bow the vote stood. The evidenee given before the Senate show that Hardy is a very unfit man for a Jndge, as it was in direct proof that he bad rendered judicial decisions from corrupt and improper motives. The testimony on the ebarges of disloyalty, and drunkenness upoo the bench, was couflictof n Me . ed ct pe ex en be ve ha t ing, as migh s te tu ti ns co at wh to as fer dif ll wi se ur co disloyalty, and as to how far under the iner od re to be st mu n ma a or qu li of e nc ue fl him unfit to occupy a judicial position. —The above was written in view of a dit patch that passed over the wires yesterday, stating that Hardy had been convicted. The rumor, however, was afterwards coutradicted; and it will be seen by our dispateb, io another colamn, that he was convieted on the ebarge of disloyalty. Sap Aeciwent.—A little boy named James Blaikie, aged about five years, who formerly resided with bis parents in Nevada, met with a sad accident a few days ago, at San Francisco, His mother bad sent him on an errand, and while returning, he turned round to look at some boys who were throwing chips oftin in the air, when one of the pieces struck him io the eye and destroyed the sight. A letter to his grand mother, Mre, Legg, who resides in Nevada, states that the little fellow bore his miefor. tune with the greatest fortitude for one of his years, walking home, a distance of two er three huodred yards, and not a cry or whimper escaping bim. wd San Francisco Po.ttics.—The election for city and county officers, of San Francisco takes place next Tuesday, but as yet ooly one set of candidates bave been nom inated. The “Peoples’ Party’’ Convention, which is a sort of a self-perpetuating political machine, have nominated, with one or two exceptions, the present iocumbants of the several offices, The Democrats have elected delegates to a nominating Convention, and will undoubtedly have a full ticket in the field; but the straight-out Republicane, who bave also taken steps to bring out a ticket, will probably be choked down, af they are somewhat fearful of showing their weakness at the present time.
