Special Notices.
To Friends of Nevada County: There
being an impression among the ‘‘people’”’ that during
the floods at Sacramento recently, I had been *‘dtownSnow IN THE MouNTAINS.—Mr. Wharten. ed,” or closed my Forwarding department of trade,
by received a letter yesterday from one of the . causes me totell you that my Forwarding House has
nts of the South Yuba Canal Co., who is. 2°t been closed three days during the floods, and
a loyed at the lakes near the summit. The . was receiving and forwarding goods every day, alrr y a a , io i. though the water in the store was three feet deep.
WHE SAFE EE SE SPM, ORs ” lam yet engaged in the business, and will be so long
mountains than there has been before at this
: as my friends in Nevada county entrust their goods
season for many years. The water in the lakes . to my care. 1 can send goods from Sacramento city
is unusually high, and the snow around them . on teams, or on the cars to Lincoln, (I have an agenis still from twelve to fifteen feet deep. The . cy at Lincoln ) Have goods marked care of Warts,
outlets of these lakes, as the most of our rea. Sacramento City, and if you desire them on the cars
ders are aware, have been dammed up so as to by Lincoln, have the goods marked “care of Wars,
the supply will be much more plentiful than us. pest forwarding point, O. H. P. Ware.
ual, Last fall the Canal Co. left a supply of} ——
provisions stored in two different cabins near
the lakes; but the party that went up this
spring found the cabins Luried so deep in the
snow that they were not able to dig their way
into them, and had to return to Omega for pro.
visions.
Sent TO THE REFORM Scnoo.—Two boys .
named Henry Hall and Timothy Spellman,
were arrested on Sunday by officer Knerr, for
stealing a stove from a cabin near the East
Gap of Sugar Loaf, which they broke to pieces
and sold at the foundry for old iron. It seems
they have been carrying on this business for
some time. They were tried yesterday before
Justice Smith, and sentenced to four years in
the Reform School. They are about twelve or
fourteen years old, and their parents have no
control over them. Another boy, who assisted
in the theft, was not found; he heard of the arrest of his accomplices, and has kept out of the .
way of the officers. Officer Hazlitt started with .
the boys this morning for Marysville.

Messrs. Repineton & Co:
I take pleasure in informing you that I have been
using your excellent Yeast Powders for some time,
and ushesitatingly pronounce them unequaled by
any similar preparation that I have ever used, Every

written statement of such, in preference to holding a
personal interview, are respectfully assured that their
communications will be held most sacred. Dr. Young

for publication; but the list is quite lengthy,
and having been published in this morning's
