The property consists of a T-shaped, 1 1/2-story, wood-frame vernacular style Late Victorian residence that fronts
Bennett Street and is sited on a slightly downslope parcel with a partial basement. Character defining architectural
features of the house include a steep cross-gable roof clad with asphalt shingles, a modest frieze and molding
covering the gable ends, boxed gable ends, fish-scale wood-shingles inside the gable ends, a hooded
second-story 1 over 7 light sash window (replaced window frame), original horizontal wood shiplap exterior siding
and replaced or applied over metal? exterior wall cladding, a partial wrap-around hipped-roof front porch supported
by square columns lacking balustrades and rails (likely replaced in the 1920-30s), a pair of vertically oriented 1
over 1 light replacement windows facing Bennett Street, a slightly inset front entry door with paneled and canted
entry detail, a wooden Victorian front entry door with a single light, a transom over the door entry, a side entrance
door with a single light, The 1895 Birdseye view of Grass Valley does not expose the house, however, the home is
depicted on the 1898 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map in its current configuration. However, the house in 1898 had
