Other Locational Data: The subject property is located on the north side of W. Main Street. *P3a. Description: The property consists of a single-story, wood-frame, Queen Anne style residence. Character defining features of the property include asymmetric fenestration, a complex roof with a hip, gable, tower, and cross-gable, a sunburst spindlework and collar beam ornament below the front gable end, fish-scale shingles inside the gable, a plain frieze below the eaves, a bay window below the front gable with brackets on the ends and replaced vinyl divided light windows, a 1/2 porch over which is a tower that transitions to a hip and then gable roof with a brick chimney, horizontal shiplap exterior siding, a vertical board skirt, replaced porch columns and balustrades and a Victorian lighted front entry door. The remaining windows in the home appear to be replaced vinyl style windows. The front is landscaped with a hedge, mature trees, shrubs, and planting beds. The home was reportedly built in 1895 for Walter Thomas and his wife. Thomas was a dentist first practicing in San Francisco (Heritage Homes of Grass Valley 2008: 13). *P3b. .
