The property consists of a single-story, wood-frame Queen Anne Victorian style residence. Character defining
features of the home include a cross-gable asymmetric design, moderately sloping roof clad with asphalt shingles,
a gabled dormer mid-point atop the right side roof, a closed gable filled with geometric shingle patterns with a 1
over 1 light attic window followed by a bay window with decorative brackets and 1 over 1 light, wood-sash
windows, horizontal wood shiplap exterior siding, a hali-porch with turned Victorian style columns and railing,
brackets on the columns and fretwork along the top, a Victorian front entry door, and a contemporary, but
sympathetic singlé-car garage added to the rear right side of the home. The house was reportedly built atop Piety
Hill in Nevada City in 1880 and moved to Grass Valley in 1917 ante the Berryman Ranch on Highway 49 and
Taylorville Read. In 1980-1982 the residence was moved by Lane Puckett to its present location, completely
restored with the attic space converted to living quarters. In 1992 it was remodeled with a 485 square foot addition
