A greut discrepancy seems L Democratic majority in Pennsylvania. lowing is the most reliable ; PuiLapevpuia, Oct. 17th. The official réturus of votes in this city show 86,038 for Scott, Dem., for Canal Commissioner, and 32.604 for Cochraa, fusion, The following are official Democratic majorities : Philadelphia county, 3,434; Chester county, 450; Northampton county, 2,820. The entire returns received this moruiug, increase the democratic majorities in the State to 6.648. The Pennsylvanian of Thursday moruing, gives retnrns and estimates to exist as to the from all the counties of the State, aud places the . probable result as follows : ; i Democratic majorities in democratic counties, John Hickman, . The fol. went down jn the Illinois as far as Sandy Hook, hoping that the fugitives would make their appearance before she got to sea, but nothing was seen of them. Daniel E. Syckles acts as the Plaintiff’s attorney. Dows was subsequently arrested. Another suit has been commenced against the same parties by Mulligan. Coleman and Dows are out on $25,000 bonds.
