Fuiace, Clerk, President, {Number 65.} N ORDINANCE, Providing for the Planking of portions of Main and Cayote streets, the Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows: SxeTIon 1, It shall be the duty of the property holders on both sides of Main street, from the bridge to tne junction of Cayote street, and of property holders on Cayote street, from the junction of Main to the upper end of the gas works building, and they are hereby required, on or before the 25th day of September, 1861, to plank said streets, im front o! their property. Sec. 2. Said planking shall be done under the 4irection and supervision of the City Marshal, and each property holder shall be required to plank . the middle of the street. Sec. 3, Should any property holder on Main and Cayote streets, between the termini above specified, neglect or refuse to plank the streets in front of his or her property, as required, it shall become the duty of the City Marshal to let out a contraet fer. having the work done, and the property along the line there! . shall be held responsible for the reasonab'e expense of the same, Passed August 27th, 1861. The Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain a follows ~~ 3 Sxerion 1. The City Marshal chall receive as a ful) compensation for his serviees, the sum ofone bun: dred dollars a month to be paid out of the City Treas ry. He shall also receive for his services as Collec tor, fifteen per centum on all monies collected on account of poll and road taxes, and five per centum on the amount collected by him en account of other city revenues; which per centage he is authorized to retain outof the amount colkected. _ 8c. 2. Policemen shall receive as a compensation for their services the sum of ninety dollars a month, to be paid out of the City Treasury as other demand» against the City. _Sre.u. For every arrest for violation of City Ordinances, (he Marshal and Policemen shall be entitled to Ure same fees as are allowed Constables in .
