A TRIBUTE TO MeriTED Worta-—The ingratitude of 36-3 . nan to his fellow man is so often met with in life, . . that testimonials, prompted by the finer feelings of . the heart, are oases in the life those who sacrifice . their best days in philanthropic devotion to the . Yeviation of the ills of frail ; al mortality. Empiri. ejsm floods the ev lumns of our press with fraudulent and fictitious letters, singing peans to the worth of their own egotistical charlatanism. Below we append a letter froma worthy man, who, a brief period . since, seemed destined to ‘shuffle off this mortal coil,’ who looXed forward to his dissolution heavy band of disease can. The undersigned, desirous of acquainting those who may be unfortunate, enouzh to be similarly may be obtained, feelsit his duty te thus publicly express his most sincere gratitude tov. L. J. Czapkay, for the permanent recovery of his je. Borne down by the distressing symptoms incident to the vicious practice of uncontrollable passion in jouth ; depressed in body and mind ; unable to perform evea tions of life, J sought the advice of many physicians who at first regarded my disease as of trifling importance-—but alas ! after a few weeks, and in severmy unutterable horror that, instead of relief, the symptoms became more alarniing in their torture: and, being told by one that my disease, being priueipally confined to the brain, medicines would be of ee little consequence, I despaired of ever regaining my . health, strength and energy ; and, as-a last resort, and with but a faint hope, called upon Dr. Czapkay, who, after examining my case. prescribed some medicine which almost instantly relievea me of the dull pain and dizziness in my head. Encouraged by this result, 1 resolved to place myself immediately under his care, and by a strict obedience to his directions ani advice, my head became clear, my ideas became collected, the constant pain in my back and groins, . the weakuess of my limbs, the nervous reaction ct . my whole body on the slightest alarm or excitement, the misanthropy and evil forebodings ; the self-distrust and want of confidence in others ; the incapa bility to study, and want of resolution ; the frightful, exciting, and at times pleasurable dreams at night, followed by involuntary discharges have all disappeared ; andin fact,in two months after having consulted the Doctor, I felt asif inspired by a new life—that life which, but a short time ago 1 contemplated to end by my own hand. With a view to guard the unfortunate from falling into the snares of incompetent quacks, I deem it my duty to offer this testimony to the merit and skill of Dr. Czapkay, and recommend him to all who mas stand in need of medical advice, being assured by my own experience, that once under his care, a radical and permanent cure will be effected. Young. I had been onthe very brink of the grave, when he stretched forth his hand and saved me from death. For several years I had beck troubled with a complication of diseases, brought on .by bad habits, aggravated by exposure in the mines, which had so weakened my system and undermined my constitution that I have often .contemplated suicide. Borne down by racking pains ih my body, dizziness in my head, sore eyes, pains and misery in my back and hips, weariness in my legs, evil forbodings, together with a confirmed melancholy, I considered my best friends to be my worst enemies ; my dreams were frightful, and at times strange phantasies took complete possession of my mind. I was fast hurrying to insanity—that worst of living deaths In this state a friend and partner in the mining business approached me on the subject, andadvised me to go to the Bay and see Dr. Young, J did so, and thank God for it. Dr. Young examined my case, and told me hecould cure me. Shortly after I commenced taking his medicines my troubles began to decrease, and in three months I was perfectly well. Take my advice, all you that are afflicted, and call upon him, for he will be sure to cure you ; he has cured several of my acquaintances after they had become discouraged by being deceived by the humbugs of the day, both by American and foreign vagabonds. My heart leaps toward him with gratitnde for his benefits to me and my friends. Cuas. F. MANnrove. 25tf GRASS VALLEY BOOT AND enon Fl svong, BERNARD HARRAGAN. Main Street, Grass Valley.
