Graham, Esq., of Eureka, has received @
a letter from his sister, in Virginia, which
makes mention of Jesse Wells, the defanlting Treasurer of Ilumboldt county. The
letter was written by one who is well known
with Wells, and lives a neighber to his
father’s family. He was within the vicinity
of his home fer several weeks, during which
time bis father died. Although his aged
parent knew that his guilty son was in the
vicinity of the parental roof, heresolved not
te see him, a resolution which the pangs of
death did not induce him to renounce. The
lady writes that Jessie bad several interviews with his sisters, but that even they
kept it a secret from their pareats.
