Uncle Joba Bell, as he was familiarly culled,
came to Nevada County in 1850, from
Schaghticoke Point. Rensselaer Co., New
York. He resided at Nevada for» year or

this place. Having been engaged in the
newspaper business, he was well known; and
his kindness of beart, and pleasant advice,
made him a universal favorite. One thing

told us be was ready for his great change.
His death was produced by old age, and
