Cole SHELDON OPTIONS California 7 & My dear Mr. Davis: In reply to your letter of August 19th, Re: Mr. Maltman, and the Properties in the Gold Flat area: I divulged the contents of same, to the other executor of the Estate of Thomas F. Cole, Mr. James W. Morin, Attorney, and, in view of Mr. Maltmen'ts views, we must, in our duties as Executors, insist that a proposed deal be submitted by 7 him, end if we feel that if it can be approved by the & Court, we will submit same for said approval. We can not, as Executors, suggest a low price for the Properties,as Mr. Maltman suggests he feels they should be acquired for. We appreciate Mr. Maltman's interest. We do not know what he has in mind, or who his backers are, or what they intend to do with the neighboring properties and with the Gold Flat Group, if they are included. Mr. T. F. Cole's Estate is now undergoing an audit, and the properties of Gold Flat Area, and papers relative thereto, are being scrutinized by the Auditor, Mr. Talbot, who has not yet completed his work on then. When this work has been completed, list can be furnished to Mr. Maltman of the properties and their total purchase prices. I am inclosing herewith, for your guidance, copy of Mr. Foote's last Report on the Gola Flat Area, which I ask that you preserve, because we have no other copy here in our files.
