Perhaps Mrs. Dudley of French Corral has forwarded my lett and some family pictures to you. If not, I ama et. ere el of ALLEN JACKSCN TACKITT who settled in Nevada Co. ca ep si/52. He, at one time, owned considerable land in area of French Corral with only about 480 acres remaining in the family which he and two of his children homesteaded in the 1890!s. My grandfather, JOSEPH YM. TACKITT was born in Birchville in 1870 and my fabher, ECWaRD RUSSELL TACKITT was born in Nevada City ("Selby Flats") in 1914. lives in Nevada County. I am author of None of our family presently "Descendants of Allen Jackson Tackitt, 1826-1295", WD pub. 1957 (somewhat outdated now, though), which, I believe, I sent to your organization about 15 years ago. I am also Pres. & Editor of our family organization which has members throughout the U.S. and we have been publishing a quarterly magazine for 10 years now. I am enclosing a back issue of our quarterly which contains a photo of Allen J. Tackitt and his listing in the 1860 “evade Co. Census. Allen J. Tackitt was a grandson of NIMROD TaCKITT?, noted on p.268 of this same quarterly as Nimrod Tacket in the 1810 Virginia Census. Perhaps some of your old time members will remember by et. *unt Julia Parthenia Tackitt ané au. Uncle Jim Tackitt who lived for many years in Grass Valley. Julia died 1937 and Jim about 1941.
