San Francisco, Calif. Sept. 21, 1972. NEVADA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY 214 MAIN STREET NEVADA CITY, CALIF, 95959. Gentlemen: Re: "GRANITEVILLE ~ PART NO. 2 I received the Article on Graniteville, Part 2 and enjoyed it very much having been a resident of Graniteville during my childhood, My father "Patrick Sarchfield Waldron" was Owner of the General Merchandise Store there for many years and we lived in the house just opposite to the Golden State Hotel. The McLeans and Foss families have been our friends over the period of yearsnow the second generation, I visited Graniteville a few years ago and was fortunate to have the opportunity of going through our old home which brought back many pleasant memories, I would very much appreciate receiving another copy of this Article. All the names and pictures are very familiar to me, I note my sister (Riby Waldron) is in one of the pictures, I know my cousin BOB PAINE has been most helpful in giving information of an historical nature. He has always been most interested along those lines, As the Article states, it was a sad day when the Golden State Hotel burned down. That was the back bone of the town, I hope to make a trip to Nevada City some time this fall. In the past I had many good times there, 42 Thanking you in advance for another copy of this Article, I am Very Truly Yours Mrs, E.T.Lefevre \) (Formerly Estelle Waldron) 1690 Beach Street San Francisco,Calif, 94123 SLe08 “a Gis.
