GEREN. W the only soldier from Nevada City who was killed while serving overseas during World War I, Two others from western Nevada county were killed and the Grass Valley American Legion Post is named for the three, the Hague Thomas Hegarty Post. The local American Legion post, along with others all over the world, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American Legion later this year, The Hague Thomas Hegarty Post will celebrate with a dinner dance, the Golden Anniversary Ball, April 12 at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building.
