MR, AND MRS, JAMES H, LUCKINBILL DR, ALLEN CHAPMAN Debora Ann Chapman remembers A modern ceremony joined Pebora. Ann Chapmal are James, Luckinbill. in marriage recently but the reception which followed was reminiscent of a century ago. The former Miss Chapman's great-grandparents were married in March 1861 at the Red Castle, Nevada City, and the reception for the Luckinbills was held at the same Red Castle. Miss Nellis Pooler, the first lady dentist in California, married Allen Chapman, also a dent:.:, and the couple lived their married life in Nevada City. Their great-granddaughter is the daughter of Col. and Mrs, Warren C, Chapman of Alexandria, Va, Mr. and Mrs, James H, Luckinbill Sr. of Grass Valley are parents of the bride.groom, The Rey. Evald Leps officiated at the double ring ceremony. The couple exchanged wedding rings made of gold nuggets. Miss Chapman's wedding gown was of candlelight satin and white lace with a fitted bodice, jeweled neckline and chapel train. : Peggy J. Chapman was the maid of honor and bridesmaids were Jaylene Anderson, Sandra Perrin and Gail Luckinbill. John Trumbo was the best rites of great-grandparents man and ushering were the twins, Charles and Timothy Luekinbill and Robert Astaff. .The newlyweds left the church driving a 1921 Model T Ford and drove to the Red Castle for a lantern lighted garden reception, The white wedding cake was decorated with pastel flowers, a white painted miniature model T Ford and a bride and groom topped the cake. The bride and groom are graduates of Chico State College.
