‘County Superior Court Judge and
Past Grand Master of the Grand
Lodge of Masons of California, one
of Nevada county’s most respected
and prominent cilizens and last
surviving member .of the pioneer
pr. W. C. Jones family, dled at the
Jones Memorial Hospital at 1:30,
erlock this afternoon. :
. Judge Jones had been * moved
from his Nevada City home to the
local. hospital several weeks ago.
His condition had become increasf ingly grave during the last few
days. He had been under constant
medical and nursing care. .
* Since the death of his brother.
the late Dr. Carl P. Jones,
' He had been the owner and operdtor of the Jones Memorial Hospital here.
A wife, Helen M. Jones and two
daughters Helen and Nancy sur‘ive. The body was moved to the
Hooper-Weaver Mortuary in Grass,

Death followed the accident by about

regained consciousness.

aged residents of the community,
died at Oakland yesterday, August
25th.

Gus Joerschke was a ntive of Newark, New Jersey, where he was born

been a steady resident of the city

She is survived by three sisters,
Mrs. Andrews; Mrs. Lyda Teague
. of Oakland and Mrs. Lottie Davey
‘of Sacramento as well as many
more distant relatives. A ‘large
number of friends mourn her passing.
Services will be held at the
Hooper-Weaver Mortuary in Grass
Valley. Rev. Cedric Porter of Trinity Episcopal Church “at Nevada
City and officers and members of
Judge Jones’ own Masonic lodge,
Madison No. 23, F. and A. M. of
Grass Valley, will officiate. Cremation will follow at East Lawn,
Sacramento.

charge. Interment will be made
in Elm Ridge.

brought up for placement at the
Mortuary chapel by Sunday.
