THERE WILL bea change of the guard at the Nevada City Post Office at midnight Sunday when Postmaster William Wasley and two of his top aides go into active vetirement. Fellow employes honored the postmaster, Howard Wasley and Howard Penrose at a dinner last Saturday night in the National Hotel. Also honored were Cameron Larsen, who retired earlier, and Sam Bedwell, who announced plans to retire early next month. Bedwell, a star route carvier, has devoted 35 years to getting the mail through to Alleghany and points between. The four others have stacked up move than a century of service and handled mail from three post office locations in Nevada Cily, including the National Hotel, the scene of the retirement dinner.
