New courthouse site chosen--125' x 150', between Washington, Pine, Church, and Winters Streets. New bridge on Pine Street. Leaving Grass Valley and Sacramento road at Turner Mill and crossing to the foot of Pine. The bridge is 358' long, 45' above the stream, cost 33000. Built by "several citizens." Episcopal Church to hold services in the Congregational Church. Courthouse contrect to Charles H. Shaw, $41,000. Privately owned street sprinkler wagon is now operating. Brick buildings—--A. W. Potter a 2-storey building on Main; Z. P. Davie, the longest brick building in town on Broad; Hussey & Rodgers rebuilding on old site. Five or six more are to be built. B. G.
