L/6/54--Great excitement, new very rich digs found at Iowa Hill,
New Daily newspaper:"Diamond Springs Daily Advertiser",
Oj Je BPR. 6,154 -Read Dog-We are informed that miners are doing a capital
business in this vicinity. Among which Robinson & Co. might be mentioned as working successfully at an average pay of from an ounce to
$40 per day to the hand (man). Also, Abercrombie & Co., who in possession of extensive diggings are realising a certaintyof from $16 to
$30 per day to the hand.
G4 New Town on Bear River-According to Judge Burgess of Red Dog,
a village has been laid out on Bear R. 3 miles above Mammoth Springs.
(the name of the village stated is "Brownsville."
Little York--On Council Hill at Little York one Co. realised 5
lbs gold dust from one days labor.

Bishop Kip, missionary bishop of Calif., of the Episcopal Church,
with his lady and a young son, visited GV & NC this week. They will hold
services at the Masonic Hall (place of Emm. Episc, services--no church
) bldg yet) next Sunday, 11 A.M.

Stowms Ranch and Brooks Ranch. Subsriber having established a line of
