The Big Flat North/of Town, adjoining Lola Montez Hill, is now covered with flowers of-every hue. Lola Montez came near\being killed while riding a horse along a steep ridge near town. When the horse jumped a deep ditch, landing on a steep slope on the further side, the horse fell over backwards, throwing Miss Montez to the ground. Luckily, Bhe fell to one side, so that the horse did not land on top of her, or injure her in scrambling to its feet. Miss Lc Montez escaped without injury.
