He was hung immediately. ® STAGE LINE-~ New, established between Nevada & Marysville. NEW CHURCH for colored people was dedicated last Sunday. BIRTH-Thurs., Dec.28, 1854, to wife of F.W.Thayer, a daughter. MARRIED-—New Years Eve, at Underwood's Ranch, by Rev. John B. Hill, Mr. Edward McLaughlin to Miss Adelia Hickman. Also:-Mr. T. W. Colburn, Esq., formerly of Boston, to Miss Louise E. Mather of Albany, New York, In Nevada (city), on Tues., Dec. 26, 1854. 9th-9th-Articles of Incorporation of miners' assoc., at CONNELLY'S FLAT. 16---16th-Not enough rain--no water for miners to work, yet. Silver & gold coins being "clipped" + & 1/3, for the metal. / DIED-S. K. Stewart, miner, by caving of a bank, last Friday. He was from Ohio. 23rd—------(2 cols. on G.V.mines. ) R. A. Davidge in shooting affair in Sacto, at Orleans Hotel Saloon. He shot, wounded James Churchman and one Mehoney. R.A.D. fined $250. Immigration into Calif., off some in '54. Estimated increase for the year,'54, 50,000, of which 15,000 were Chinese. © 8,000 lives lost in shipwrecks, last 18 months. 2,000 deaths in San Francisco, pest year, New M.E.Church dedicated, (G.V.) cost $3,750-last Sunday. "Qld Block", 14 col. amusing story. (front page) 30th-----Frequent large parties and Balls at "Grass Valley House". (Daniel Guiou) (a restaurant is next door to"Telegraph" Office. Ed. complains of too much “drunken noise", / 4 killed at Iowa Hill, when reservoir burst, carrying away a house:-John Rostwick, Mich.; John T. Colby & his wife & child from Ireland. Vv DIED-Col. Alexander Anderson, lawyer of G.V. Buried Sunday by Thos. Holmes. Hed wife & children in the East. (4 col. Obit of high praise. ) BIRTH-22nd inst., to wife of Rev.John B.Hill, a daughter. / DIED-In G.V., Elias Cochran, age 24 yrs, Jan. 25th, consumption. (Missouri & Illinois papers please copy.).
