y Conied from Nevada Journal, Sent 13, 1651; and Sept. 18, 1851. 1 i> Act to incorvorate the city of "Nevada". Hxcerpts: Boundres shall be within one mile and a half from the store of Truex and Blackman, north and south. The eastern lime one mile and the western line two miles within said store. As surveyed by J. S. Brodie.under the instructions of the Common Council. City divided into 5 wards: Ward 1: Commencing at the intersection of the south bank of Little Deer Creek with the eastern boundry line of the city and féllowing westerly said south Lank of little Deer Creek to the bridge at the foot of Main Street; thence continuing westerly along the south bank of Great Deer Creek to its intersection with the western boundry lined the city, thence southerly along the west boundry line of the city to it with the south boundry, thence east along the boundry line to its junction to it and junction with the north east boundry line to the nlace of commencement. Ward 2: Comuencing on the south bank of little Deer Creek at the bridge at the toot of Main, follow north on west side of. Main to north east corner of the store of N. H. Shepherd on uvver Main, thence north east to the north east corner ot the boundries thence south along the east boindry of the ci¥, crossing Great Deer Creek to its intersection with Little Deer Creek. Ward 5: (I don't ‘now what mpnened to Wards 3 and 4) Commencing at the north east cornerof Shepherd's store, tum ng north west to the boundry line of city, thence east along nérth boundry line, thence south west to place of commencement. Officerss “Mayor, ten Alderman, one recorder, one treasurer, assessor, clerk, attorney and marshall. Duties: To nrovide for the prevention and extinguishment of fires, and to establish and organize fire companies. (a) To remove from the immediate vicinity of the inhabited parts of the city all slaughter houses, haystacks, forges and blacksmith shops. (b) To license and regulate auctioneers, taverns, bar rooms, billiard tables, bowling alleys, theatrical and other exhibition§g shows and ammusements. (c) To license, tax, regulate, prohibit and suppress, tippling houses, dram shops, gaming and gambling houses, and hawkers, peddlers, and nawn brokers, and to supvress disorderly houses and houses of ill fame. (d)) Yo establish a city hospital. (e) To nrevent and restrain any riot. (f) It shall be the duty of the city assessor to pepare a list of taxable pronerty.
