MINERALS Appeal Apr. 5, 1861 The Transcript notes a strike at Zinc House, 8 miles from Nevada City, where silver, copper, gold and tin are found, according to an assay. Appeal Feb. 7, 2861 Long article quoting Transcript and a correspondent, Rainbow, discussed the discovery of silver at Rattlesnake Creek. Appeal Feb 5, 1861 Transcript quoted re silver strike near Grass Valley. & worker where the ore was assayed came to Grass Valley and purchased part of claim before results were known. Appeal Mer. 15, 1861 Items: Silver ledges at Grass Valley, in Esmeralda, Cose and Mono. Mar. 12, 1861 Messrs. Brace and Grant open a new lime ledge on Greenhorn Creek.
