Nevada ahead--Some 2 months ago, we noticed the fact that Mr. Crenshaw, the Postmaster of this place, had forwarded $101 to the Washington National Monument Fund, being the amt. deposited in the box at the P.O. during the montns of Oct. & part of Sept. It anpears that Nevada is the banner town in contributions to this fund. In the Washington Star of Dec. 16th, we notice the following: "An Example Worthy of Imitation--The Postmaster of the town of Nev da in Calif., 3 has forwarded $101 as the contribution for the completion of the Washington Monument. This is $30 more than was sentbythe town of Lynn, Mass., which has up to this time headed the list." The contribution box is still kept at the PS window & some money has been dropped in since the $101 was forwarded to Washington DC.
