houses destroyed. Loss estimated $5000. Believed incendiary.
26 July Bee scribblers fiends. If there is not a hell in the Great Hereafter, one

27 July Driver of N.C. brewery wagon, Gallagher, stopped between Sweetland
and Montezuma by 2 masked men and robbed af $20 and beaten.
Four Chinamen killed instantly at Libery Hill consolidated gold mining co. in
cave in. Gang rushed in to rescue others. Foul air overcame and 3 meu pulled
out more dead than alive, not expected -to live.
