GRASS VALLEY (Nevada Co.), July 25. —With the leasing of the S beautiful Glenbrook hotel property between Nevada City and Grass Valley, from Elisha #é aaa Andrews by Edward H. Morrell, 'Nevada county will soon have a modern .summer resort or another sanitarium. Morrell represents California capillists whose names he refuses to divulge at present and declares that although it has not been definitely decided whether to build a summer resort or Sanitarium, whatever will be built will be of the most modern and attractive type. No expense will he spared, he says, in making the place one of the garden spots of Nevada county It is expected that arrangements will be completed by November 1. MAY HAVE SANITARIUM. We have not decided just what we will turn tills beautiful spot into,” said Morrell, “but you can depend upon it that we mean business and do not wish to talk much about the matter until we have made decisive plans. We are considering three propositions, going into each one issue. “1 believe the spot is ideally located for a sanitarium,” continued Morrell, “and should we decide to build this class of an institution we will erect a large number of cottages over the entire acreage. The cottages will be of modern type, perfectly sanitary, and will be equipped with every convenience for the sick. The climate here is ideal for the sick and such an Institution would be deservedly patronized, for it is doubtful if there are other cities of the size of Grass Valley that are fortunate enough to be well represented in the mcdical profession, especially by young, energetic men. who have every reason to give close application to their work. SURROUNDED BY ALL BEAUTIES. “Glenwood, being located midway between the two cities and being surrounded with ail the beauties of the foothills, would be an ideal spot for a summet resort. During the last few years . h.ave visited nearly every summer resort in the west, and none can surpass this spot . have chosen. You have certainly got the climate and the environments here, and if we got the tourist' here once we will always be sure of getting them back.” In speaking of The proposed summer resort Morrell thought It more feasible than either of the .other two projects. He stated that if his men desired to build a summer resort they would erect a handsome hotel where the old Glenbrook hotel now stands. "It woulc not be my idea to tear down the Glenbrook structure,” said Morrell, “for it now stands on a solid foundation. Should we decide to build the hotel we would make additions, probably add another story to the building , completely renovate the interior and give the entire building the concrete finish whieh is now being used throughout the state. We would place in tennis courts and install all other accessories for the pleasure of the tourists. “Whatever is decided upon, itis a positive fact that a ) thoroughly, and the project that we finally decide upon will be carried through to a successful pe!
