Lives of Nevada County Pioneers (version 20120) ia, and sent to Union prison at Elmira, N.Y. Jan 24, 1865—Had written to friends at Nevada City to say he was willing to take the loyalty oath. Wanted to come to Calif. but lacked money and was asking old friends to assist him. July 1867— Chosen delegate to Democratic State convention. ALEXANDER ANDERSON (c1825-1855) ca 1825—Born in Ohio or Illinois. Brother of John. —Practiced law at Woodstock, Shenandoah Co., Virginia. —Married; had more than one child. June 1854—Joined brother John at Nevada City, Nevada County, Calif. Jan 5, 1855—Formed partnership with John, who was to go to Virginia and get Alexander’s family while Alexander carried on the practice. Jan 27, 1855—Killed when boiler exploded on steamboat Pearl enroute from Marysville to Sacramento. Rev. AUGUST P. ANDERSON( -_ ) —Came to Calif. 1869—Rector at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley, and Trinity Episcopal Church in Nevada City, Calif. March 29, 1875— Gave oration at commencement exercises of Western Business College of Grass Valley. 1875—Replaced Rev. George R. Davis as Rector at Trinity Church. Nov 1875—Resigned as Rector at Emmanuel Church and moved to San Jose. Dec 12, 1875—Returned from San Jose to conduct services a Emmanuel Church for last time.
