The 1889 lithograph, “Grass Valley, Cal., Looking West 1889 Compliments of Nevada Co. N.G.R.R. Co.” The Grass Valley Brewery is in the upper right-hand quadrant of buildings. Also shown in the lithograph is the L. C. Wilhelm Residence, which . will show enlarged later in this document. The Nevada County N.G.R.R. Co. (Narrow Gauge Railroad Co.) was founded and built by John and Edward Coleman. We will discuss Edward Coleman’s friendship with the Binklemann and Wilhelm families later in the document. 27
