Advertisement from the Sacramento Daily Union, Volume 28, Number 4345, 23 February 1865. David
Binkelman is advertising, selling half his interest in his newly built Grass Valley Brewery. Interestingly,
he advertises that a “Lager Beer Saloon” is attached. We would have to guess that this is the wood
structure attached to the brick structure's south side (right side in lithographs and photos). The “Frame
Dwelling” located near the brewery is being sold. As we have read, David Binkelman had a wood
structure on his property north of the brick brewery that was being used as the brewery while he built
the two-story brick and stone structure that was completed by David Binkleman in 1861.
