Herkimer Mine—Sierra County Hermitage Mine: “The North Star, Empire, Idaho-Maryland, Brunswick, Golden Center, Hermitage, Mitchell, and Williams gold lode mines at Grass Valley milled 182,429 tons of ore, which yielded 99,799.82 ounces of gold and 45,837 ounces of silver. The Brunswick was allowed to fill with water in July, and operations at the Hermitage ceased about the same time. Work was stopped at the Golden Center in March.
