“The Yuba and Mayflower Mines (Mining & Scientific Press, pg. 570, 11-9-1907) are
being systematically reopened. C. S. Marriner is the Manager and L. S. Strickler is the
Superintendent. About 20 men employed. Tramway is being built to connect the
Mayflower mine with the mill on the South Yuba River. The mill has been entirely rebuilt
and 10 new stamps added. The Yuba Shaft will be unwatered, it having been idle since
the Haggin & Hearst people abandoned it many years ago, after sinking 960” Mining &
