Amalgamating and Separating Pans
T IS ACKNOWLEDGED BY ALL WHO HAVE RXAMINED THE
rlnciples aud witnessed the operation of thesc Pans, tlut they
are decidedly superlor for triturating and amaigamnting purposes
to any other in use.
fhe most important principle connected with the operation of
these Puns Is the separation ol Lhe triturating proecss trom that of
extracting the amalgain trom the sand, The chief eiuse of loss of
the preciuus metal arises from the passing off of the same In com.
bination with the qnicksilycr, during the process of trituration, and
In cleaning np. By the introduction ol the Se ene nting Pan to tollow the triturating, this loxsis entirely avolde Tn working these
wnmachines there is no nppreciable loss of quicksilver, and hence nene
of 1e precious metuls.
Where these Pans itave been introduced and ope! perated De the slde
of others on sands from the same vat, tho Wheeler Pans haye unlTormly gained a large percentage of melids, over tts evinpetltors, as
well ns 1 still larger perecntage in the amount of work perfernied.
**Thesc Pans may be sven in daily operation at the Miucrs,
Foundry, on First street, San Franeiseo, whero all interested are Inyited to call and examine for themselves.
