The Mechanical work of Tractoniome plates, as introduced
in the invention of Wheeler & Ri
That is, the Tractory-formed grin
hundred and seventy-seven tons of ore, the conical grinding plates
one hundred and ten tons, and the plane circular grinding platca

Those using this invention certify that they thoroughly redyce
five tons of ore, as it ordinarily cones from the wet battery, per

The relative grinding capacities of “The Wxcelsior” Grinder
and Amalgamator, of the Flat Bottomed Pan, and of the Conical
Pan when properly constructed, ave respectively 177, 98 and 110.
That is, the respective mullers being of the same diameter,
same weiyht, same hardness, and ranuing at the same velocity,
“The Excelsior Grinder and Amalgamator” will reduce one hundred and seventy-seven tons of ore, the Flat Bottomed Pun ninetycizht tons, and the Conical Pan one hundred and ten tons to the
same degree of finencss in the same time.

securing eveuness of reduction to the pulp, as well as steadiness

or substance to be amalgamated passes direct from the grinding
surfaces iuto the quicksilver; thus excluding the possibility of its
hecoming coated with any foreign substances, after having heen
burnished. It is truthfully said “that the Tractory-formed Pan
as a Griuder has no equal, and as an Amalgamator no superior.”
As a whole, it is far superior to any other pan in use.
