Bullion has beea ia active request throughout the week, and sales of gold bara were made for the steamer of yesterday at 850@860, with some transactions at even ligher figures. Silver is uuchanged, and is quotable at par to 14 cent. premium. Advices trom different mines appear to be regarded with much more favor, aad if all stocks were not now iu such apparent discredit with the public generally, and certain capitalists in this city would afford the usual facilities to dealers, an early and substaatial recovery to the market might be coafidently looked for. Different portions of the old works have shown a decided improveaient recently, and it is now estimated that at least 25,000 tons of ore can yet be taken from the upper levels.
