HE SUBSCRIBERS WOULD CALL THE ATTENTION of the Mining Public to their Reducer aud ;Amalgamiator, and also to their Separator tor reducing and separating the inmeral from Gold and Silver Ores, Manufactured and exhibitcd atthe Vulcan Iron Works, Nos 137 and 139 First strect, San Francisco. These machines sccure to the Minera more Expedltlous and Perfect Reduction and Amulgamatlon, a less Mability to accident and delay, and a greater amount of useful effect In proportion fo the power employed to kcep them in operation than any other machine now in use for producing simi -arresults, Thla fact is attested to by their gencral adoption and prefcrence at all the prueinal Reduction Works in Ne‘erritory ; among which may he mentioned the Gould & Curry Mill, the Silver State Reduction Works, Zcphyr Flat Mill, Pioneer Mill, Eastern Slope Mill, Pheenix Mill, etc, gar This Ainalgamator may he seen jn operation at the European Metallurgical Works, Bryant St. bet. 3d and 4th. Tiilustrated inthe Mining and Selentlfie Press, He 9th, ; Ss HEPBURN & PETERSON, + nov’ 3m* D NOTICE TO MINERS. NEW QUARTZ MILL. HE ATTENTION OF ALL ENGAGED IN MINING IS calledto Fauchery'’s unrivaled Mining Machines, consisting of his celebrated Turbine Wnter Wheel, which took the First Premiuin at the Mechanics’ Fair at San Francisco for 1864; his Crocodile Qnartz Crusher; his Pulverizer, and lisImproved Freluerg Amalgumating Barrel; altagether forming the most complete and ctfective Quartz Reducing and Ammgantating Mill now inuse. This mili can_be put , up at less cost, run with less power, and accomplish more work, tban any other now in use. B. Fauchery and ¥. Genard Baving established a Quarta Mill and Metallurgleai Works, are now prepared to crush, roast. amalgamate, assort, cupelate, and give correct analysisof ores. Weare also prepared to give our attcntion to the butiding and constructing of Quartz Mills and Furnaces, and give directlons for working Mines; and also to instruct pergonsin all branches apRes eave to Mining Works, at No, 23 lyemont strect, near arket, Railroad Foundry: building, F. GENARD, Metalinrgist. B. FAUCHERY, Engineer. 24v9 4 ; ‘WM. BRUCKNER’S Eurnace for Roasting Ores. Now in Operation ‘at 416 Market street, This Furnace, whicb 1s portable, and can be carricd on mulcbick, undertakes to roast without employing any labor whatever for the opcration of stirring, which is accom. plished by machiuery that may be driven by stcam or any other motor. Itconsists of an iron eylinder, which, belng suspendcd hy chains, in rotating mixcs and stirs the ore, by an Internal apparatus, quicker and more pertectly than can be done In any other furnace hitherto known in inetallurgy. It can be applied to any kind of ore, and the rapldity and pertectedness of its operation, the great savlug In Iuel, and the entire saving of the labor nsuully required for stirring the ore, together with tha simull cost of coustructing it, rendcrs this turnaco a most. E teal and & ical Invention. The Furnacc may be had of two sizes—one being nino fect In length and poids tourtcen huidred pounds, and the other six teet In length, and holding cight hundred pours. One lpr ge pov er Is required to drivo the machinery of the larger sized furnuce, and three-fourtils of a horsc-power for the smaller sizc. Partics wishing to erect such furnaces will please coninuuicate to W. BRUCKNER, No, 416 Market street, San Francisco. 5v10 ' BLATE’S QUARTZ BREAKER Is now extensively used for breaking hard masses of Quartz or Ores To a size suitable for stamps. These machines are patented, aud are In practical operation in CALIFORNIA, AUSTRALIA, WASHOE, ENOLAND, D — AND — THE ATLANTIC STATES, FRANCE, * These Machincg, or circulars containing further InformaHog renardine them, may be obtained of tbe undersigned. 33, BLAKE & TYLER, Box 2077 San Franclsco Post Office. ‘J CHAS. For rapldly puiverizing and amalgamating ores, they have nocqual. Noefiort has been, or will be, spared to havo them constructed in the most parfeet manner, and of the great number now in opcrntion, not one has ever reulred repairs. The constant and increasing demand for them is sufficient evldcnce ot their merits. They are constructcd 50 asto apply steam directly into tho puip, or with steam bottoms, as desired. This Amalgamator Operates as Fellows: The pan belng filled, the motion of the muller forecs the pulp to the center, whcre itis drawn down tbrongli the aperture and between the grinding surfaccs, Thence it is thrown to the periphery Into the quicksllver. The curved Plates again draw It to the center, where it passes down, and to tho circumtcrence as before. Thusitis coustantly passing in a regular flow between the grinding surfaces and into the quicksilver, until the ore ls reduced to an Impalpable powder, and the metal amalgamated, Setlers made on the same principle cxeel all others.— They bring the pulp so constantiy and pertcctly in contact with quicksilver, that the particles are rapldly aud completely absorhed. Aili men are invited to examinc these pans and setlers for themselves, at tbe PACIFIC FOUNDRY, Ilo San Frantisco, THE HAMMER QUARTZ MILL. [PATENT APPLIED FOR] This Machine is now complete and rendy’for sale. In
constructing it, our aim has been to produce a light, cheap and economical Crushcr—one adapted to mining ou a small as well as on a large seale. The elementary principle on which it operates is that of the stamp—tbe only one really reliable and cconomlcal. ~ But the stamp has many serious disadvantages, among which are its great weight and smalj velocity; the great power required to rnn it: difficulty in feeding properly; imperfect discharge, and the necessity of crushing wet, or the aunoyance from dust in crushing dry. All these dilliculties are obvlated in our machine, and the percussive blow of the stamp rctained, with the further advantage of its belng a drawing or grinding one. We give to our haininers such absolute or relative weight and vélocity as we choose—just such as to effect their purpose and no more—thus securing the qualitles of the natural hammer blow. The feed is self-adjnsting and uniform, and as fast as the ore reaches the required degree of finencss (which dcpends upon the filencss of the scrcen or sieve nsed), it ja instantly discharged, so that there is no packing of the ore under the hammers, The mill crushes dry, with no more dust than that. iucldcnt to fecding, which is trifling.. Asthe only support of the mortar isa single post set lnto the ground, the machine can be put in place at slight expense, The slzc now belng buiit weighs abont 1,800 ponndscomplete; the heaviest piece not weighing over 275 pounds. It is drlven by half a horse-power, and crushes from three to ten toms per day of twenty-four hours per day, according to the character of the rock aud the fineness to which it is reduced. Larger ones will be furnishedif desired. We Invite au Inspection of tho Mili now In operation adjoining the Foundry of DEVOE, DINSMORE & CO., on Fremont street, between Market and Mission, San Francisco. Constructed on prinelples which combina Scizntiric Kyownepce witn Practica, Expratencr, thera Pans extract more gold and silver froin thelr ores than anv others In nse, as a few hours trial will demonstrate. Ml men will find It te thelr advantage tocmploy these pans as Scparators, in addltlon to the ordinary Amalgators now in use, and to re-work thetr old tailings. The cost of these pans is Inconsiderable, and thelr strneture ls such that they can be rcadily separated In parts cone venicnt for packing on mules.
