From the Stock Circular of Associated Brokers of the 8. F. Stock & Exchange Board.
Say Fraycisco, Satcornay Morwina, Januory 27th, 1866.
The nmonnt of cnpital offering for loon pnrposes shows no abatement, amply supplyiug the wonts of nll closscs who cun furnish the
requisito security. .A fuir demand prevails in hank circles, und choice
nummes are passiug at 1@114 P cent. per month, the lotter heing the
current rate for the usual discounts mnde. 1n the opeu inarket negotintions nre nflected nt 1!¢@2 @ cent., nccording to the colloteral

Receipts of trensure from tho interior and north const, since Saturday Inet, nmounted to somé $1,100,000, moking on agercgate ‘of
$3,100,000 thus fur during the current month. The yicld of Nevodo

Bullion has met with some inquiry this week, and gold bars have

Legal Tenders have continued active, nnd some $160,000 were denlt
in within p ronge of 7L14(@7014¢, closing nt nhout 70!gc asked. Consideroble soles of Nationul Bank Notes have been mnde nt 703(@70 ve.
‘lhe latter ore somewhat less desirahle thon Legal Tender Notes, for
the reason that, although received hy Government oflicials in this city,
for taxes, e:e., they nre invariubly refused hy mony parties for freights
due here upon shipments of merchandise from the Fast. Our latest
telegraphic ndvices from the Enst quote gold nt 1391¢ on the 24th inst,
There has been ov slight improvement in some mining shares during
the week; hut other stocks evinced less strength yesterday tlian ot the
close of Inst week. The ore product of n nomher of prominent claims
continues fully up to the average of the past six months, with, how
ever, n less flattering net result in bullion. In view of the fuct that
current expenses remain the snme, if not larger thnn formerly, it would
seem emineutly proper ot this time to introduce more economy in the
monngement of different compnnies, if it he prncticable under exist
ing circumstances. Many stockholders nre of the opiniun that too
moch is paid for Inhor in Nevnda, ond that the pay rolls of
every compnny should be materially reduced. Some contend, also
thnt the services of a number of employees, other than laborers, could
now he dispensed with without the least detriment to the interests of
shareholders, lt is thought that money could he caved if less prospecting were done for new hodies of ore, in gronnd giving no evidence
of the existence of a minernl bearing lode, and that the enormous expenses incident to certnin improvements under way, (without knowing
positively thot they will ever he used for the pnrpose intended), is likewise injudicious and unnecessnry.
Gould & Curry rose from $810 to $835, then eold at $300, eeller 60,
nnd closee nt nbout $800, seller 30. In drifting south a distnnce of 200
feet from the second station,in the D street shaft (600 feet from the eurface), a connection has been made with the old works, at which latter
point operations can uow be resumed without any trouble from water

Carpenter, and the Pioneer mills (20 tons enpacity per day each), hnve
been omployed, which will cnnble the company to reduce some 80 tous
per duy. ‘The rate to he pnid for crushing is $14 per ton.

(@$232. In the Grnss Root station workmen have heen employed recently in stripping down the west wall, and toking out the usual quantity of ore. The Bajazette ground is said to present the same appenrance, and the stope over Pat's incline is producing about 30 tens of
ore per day. The Chollar mine, between the 3d and 4th stations. is
said to look remarkahly well, aud a winze sunk 34 feet on the eust side
shows good ore all the way down. ‘The new shaft ie timbered to a
depth of 559 feet, nnd the drift to the ledge is in 157 feet upun that
work, and in the mine 157 men nre now employed. During the week
ending Jnnuary 19, 550 tons of ore were sent to custom mills; 5144

Alpha lins ottracted but little nttention, and trifling sales were made,
receding from $300 to $240, and closing at $235 hid. Belcher declined
