Mr. O'lfaRra bas erected a aew roaating furnace at Empire, near Carson, whieh, according
tothe Nye coanty News, is a complete success.
‘A letter ia pablished which states that the
pew furnace had just finished working seventyfive tons of tailings at Daytun. The work wus
accomplished iu seveu anda half days. The
jetter adds:
Messrs, O'Hara & Thompson have a contract tu ereet a furnace for the Yellow Jacket
will, and will also put ap oae at the Mexican
mill. ‘Tey linve endoavored to keep their
‘operations as quiet ns possible, until they had
eatisOind those in their own section, aud now
‘say that us soon as they get one erected here,
they will play out ” all the old furnaces, ‘They
‘cnn ronat first class ore for $1.75 per ton, and
all ores that require less than cight hours’
toasting for $1.23 pertou, For reference I
am nathorized to say that if any one has a
doabt of the perfectness of the furnace, for
them to address Gov. Blasdell, Jno. B, Winters, or A. 2. Paal, and they will satisfy them
that it is a perfect success. ‘Ihe seventy-five
tous roasted at Dayton cost $1.123¢ per ton.
