Murutstone Manuracrorr.—Mr, C. PF,
Travis has recently commenced the manufacture of French burr millstones, at 109
Mission street, in this city—a branch of
business, we believe, never before introduced on this coast. The millstones, when
desired, are fnrnished with Fellenbaum’s
patent balance, of which he is sole proprietor for California, Oregon and Washington
Territory. Mill picks are also dressed and
millstones repaired and rebuilt at this establishment. Mr. Travis is also agent for Dufour & Co’s Dutch anchor bolting cloths.
Woopwakp’s Garprens,—This charming
place of suburban resort will be open today, and the proceeds of the day will be
devoted to the San Francisco Benevolent
Association.
Tun Unton Pacreto Rarzroap. —The
Union Pacific Railroad is now opened to
Julesburg, 376 miles west of Omaha, and
the daily trains have commenced running
each way. Over 500,000 pounds of freight
was awaiting the opening.
Miniye in Cornwaut, of every description; appears to be at a very low ebb at the
present time, and various speculations are
being indulged in as to the most ready and
effectual means for resuscitating it.
