Corron In CaLrrornia.—The cultivation
pf cotton in this State has been attended
with such indifferent success, that the probahility is hut little further effort will be
made to continne the business here. ‘Our
local supply will probably he eventually
phtained from the Sandwich Islands. The
island of Nuhau, of that group, is said to
be pcenljarly adapted to such cultivation, as
melts the past scasou have fully
shown,
Or the immigrants now arriving from the
East a much larger portion than usual are
Americans, mostly from the Southern and
Westcrn States, most of whom are laborers,
Thcy readily find cmploymcut cither at farming or lumbering. The Labor Exchange is

Trnstees of sald Company, held on the ninth day of June,
1868, an assessinont (No. 3) of seventy-five cents per shara
was levied upon the capital stock ot sald Company, payable Imunediately, In United States gold coin, to the Seeretary, at his office, No. 533 Kearny street, San Franelsco, Cal.
Any stock upon which suld assessment shall remain une
pald on Thursday, the sixteenth day of July, 1868, shafl ba
decined delinquent, and willbe duly advertised tor sale ai
public auction, and unless payment shall be made before,
will be sold on Wednesday, the tlith day of August, 1868, to
