The Mining and Scientific Press. oT only to the bondholders or othcr creditors of the Mariposa Company, or to the leolders of preferred stock, in exchango for nnd upon the surrender to the Trnstees of tho bonds or otler obligations of the company. Tho trnst deed contnins carefully prepared provisions as to the mode of issue .and transfcr of said ccrtiticates, payments of dividends thereon, etc. The certificates were ready for delivery in Now York on the 5th of last month (Juno), at the company’s office, 34 Wall strect. It isa matter of congratulation that the varions oonflicting views and interests of the several parties interested in this property have finally been arranged and har. monized. This matter has heen bronght abont, ina great degrce, throngh the cfforts of Mark Brumagim, Esq., of New York, a brother of John W. Brnmagim, of this city. That gentleman has, notil reccutly, held the office of President of the Mariposa Company, and duriug his connection with this company to the present time, has ever cnjoyed tho unlimited confidence of stockholders, bondholders, and all other partics holding interest therein, eithcr friendly or advorse to each other. As the chairman of the recently created Board of Trustees, it is his determination to revive the company, and, if possible, place it upon a substantial footing, to the end that it may start out on a career of prosperity nod usefulness. This property has heretofore heen a very unfortnnate ono for mostof the parties who havo become interested in it, as well as for the county in which it is located, the business of which has often been thrown into confnsion by the stoppage of work upon the Estate. It is peculiarly nnfortunate, just at this time, that the company shonld suffer tho loss of the destruction of one of their mills by fire (the Bear Valley~ Mill), as mentioned in our last issne; but we understand that it is the intention of the Trnstees to allow no unnecessary delay in the reconstruction of thesame. The new ‘‘Eureka Process,” which has recently been introduced into that mill (the Lundgren pulverizers and Ryerson amalgamators), has already proved a most effective one, and fully settled the fact that rock can he obtained there which necds only a proper mode of reduction to return a large profit over working cxpenses and interest of investment. We sincerely hope that a new career of prosperity is in store for this valuable and extensive property, and that the time is not far off when the bondholders will begin to receive dividends on their investment. We also understand that new mills are to be forthwith erected on the Merced, where an ample water power exists, and where unlimited quantities of good rock can be easily obtained from the Josephineand Pine Tree veins, and run dircetly upon inclines from the mines tothe mills. The same process will be employed at their new works which has proven so satisfactory at the Bear Valley mill. The mnchinery is already on the ground, ready to be put in place as soon as the necessary preparations can be made. ‘There is sufficient water power here to rnn 200 stamps. J. Henpy, Esq.—Dear Sir: —To your request for an expression, in writing, of my opinion in regard to the merits of your Concentrator, I reply, that I consider it the best machine for saving quicksilver and amalgam, and for concentrating sulphurets, that I have ever used, or seen uscd. I may add, that I could give you no stronger proof of this than to order, as I did, six more of them, after a trial of one for several months. I shall take pleasure in showing the machine in operation to any one interested, who will . ’ call at the mill of the Empire Company, in Grass Valley. Yours, S. W. LEE, Supt. Norta Star Mine, Grass Valley, Feb. 26, 1868, J. Henpy, Esq—Dear Sir:— In answer to your request, I give my opinion in regard to the eight Concentrators we have at work. We have had ono at work on Dlanket washings for the past three months, and it has proved highly satisfactory in saving sulphurets and amalgam, that in past years we have been losing. Of the other seven, six are taking the pulp from the batteries, and the remaining one concentrating from the six, which, when thus reconcentrated, yield 95 per cent. of pure sulphurets, Respectfully, ete. W. H. RODDA, Supt. An Additional call for Hendy’s Concentrators Has just been complied with, and the machines shipped to Grass Valley, Nevnda Co., Cal., viz: One machine for the Empire Company, and two for the North Star. Hendy’s Concentrators have been in constant use in these mills for more than eight months, and these orders completed a set of ten machines for each mill, The North Star Company have just added eight new stamps to their machinery. Four Concentrators have been forwarded to the Vulture mine, in Arizona, which makes eight for that mill. The additional order for four machines was made after a thorough trial, which proved their superiority over all others. . Sce Mining and Scientifie Press of Dee. 14th. j CAUTION.
