and abandoned; and none seems to meet tho requirement of the mining interest so well ns that now
patented by Mr. Hungerford, which is au improvement on the well known Hungerford & Prnter Concentrator, with which his name is already so familiar.
Many machines have heen tried,
RECOMMENDATIONS:
San Francisco, October 19th, 1868.
Mr. M. Huxorrrorv—wear Sir :—We havo had twelve of your Concentrators at work at the
Oneida Mine, Amador County, for about six months. They give entire satisfaction. They are
strong and substantial, requiring, thus far, no repairs, nnd do their work thoroughly and effectively.
Ata recent clean-up of four of them, I found that in four weeks’ time we saved about $500 in free
gold, besides the sulphurets, or not far from one dollar per ton on the entiro crushing of the ten
stamps connected with them.
machines. Yours, respectfully,
In my opinion, it is for the interest of every quartz mill to havo your
GEORGE PRINGLKE, Supt. Oneida Mine.
Orrice OF THE OnEIDA Minine Cosipany, Jackson, May 13th 1868
Mr. Morean Huneerrorp—Dear Sir:—In regard to the four Hungerford Concentrartors that I bouglit of Messrs. Goss & Lambard last month, I will say that I put thom up in the
Oneida Mill soon after I arrived here, and find that they save sulphurets well and clean, and work to
my entire satisfaction. I have tried many other concentrators, hut these stand up and work better
than any others I have used. I have ordered Messrs. Goss & Lombard to make eight moro for me as
soon as possible. Very truly yours, JAMES MORGAN.
Big Oar Fiat, May 25th, 1868.—A/r. T. W. Alulford—Dear Sir :—I have used two of M. Hungerford’s Concentrators in the Rattlesnake Quartz Mill, at this place, and find that they work full as
well as they are represented to do. E. M. SMITH, Supt.
A full description of the principlo and modo of action of this pan, is described in circulars, which
will be forwarded to any party who nny desito thom.
The Hungerford Concentrator has only to be scen to be appreciated. No millman will! use any
other kind after ho has tried that.
give perfect Satisfaction.
They are in active operation in mills throughout the State, and
It should he borne in mind that Mr. Hungerford is the onyinal builder and maker of the celebrated Prater Concentrator, nnd his name should be sufficient guarantee to warrant the public in examining his new machine before purchasing elsewhere.
In future these Pans will be manufactured by Gopparp & Co., at the Pacific Iron Works, San
Francisco, which is a guaranteo that they will be built in the most substantial manner.
Theso Pans may be seen at tho Pacitie Iron Works, First street, near Howard, San Francisco.

1869—Messrs.A. S Hallidie & Co.—Genis.:—I recelved trom
you three Cruetbles of the Morgan make, whleh I have
ised since theirarrival, and tested by coustant use. Since
1847, when in the New Orleans Mint, I have ulways preferred the Crucible of Dixon's make over Adus, Gautier,
and Taunton, Mass, Yonrs I find tobe not alone of moro
finished make, but to stand double or treble the work of
Dixon's Crneibles. The No, 12—the smallest scnt—has
stood 80 far 32 meltIngs, and Is as good and sound as when
received. Yonr Crucibles do not scale off like others, and
as they are forty per cent. eheaper, Ido not sec why they
should not be preterred by all assayers on acconnt of dnrabiliiy and cheapness. Yours respectfully, H, HARRIS.
