Sitver Wave.—Tho Perkins shaft is
down 105 ft. in limestone formation, No.
4 shaft is down 115 ft. and rnnning on
spar wall. Tho drift from tho bottom of
the shafts is finding chlorido and quartz
mixed.
Nouru Avrona.-In tho Sonth drift from
the Lady’s ohamber the ore has improved
iu grade and body.
Wanp Beecuen.—Sinking winzo in tho
hottom of Phillpots chambor, to counect with the East drift from tho Lady's
chamber. Shipping by tramway to the
iill,
Gast Suenoycan.— The Last Shoboygau
Co.’s mines are looking well. The most of
tho force of meu are engaged prospocting
and making openings.
Correr Sinver Goance.—A_ shift of 2
men is ongaged sinking the North shaft.
The indications for finding a good body of
ore are encouraging.
Nooxpay.—Mr. Woodman, the foroman,
is oponing the mine in good sbape. The
ore hody holds ont as far {as openings are
mado. {
Arizona.
Yavapar Co.—Prescott Union, Feb. 17:
The last run made by Jackson, Shoup &
Co’a. t-atamp mill, npon oro from the Del
Pasco lode, yiclded 4334 ozs. of gold.
Thia run did not exceed 3 daya. The
Tiger mine ia yielding plenty of rich ore.
The Benjamin and other mines, near
Prescott are developing. Placer minera
are doing wellin the several creeks and
gulches in the vicinity of Prescott, and
Weaver. ‘The Vulture is heing miued and
milled with satisfactory results. A furnace is oeing erected at Pceplea valley.
Mouwave Co.—In Wallapai Dist, all the
prominent mines are turning out well.
The Pioneer mill has beeu running regularly upon Lone Star rock, aud is paying
very well. Mr. Spear, shipped last week
$5,000 in bullion. The furnace at Chloride is going up.
SmetTino Works.--Los Angelea News,
Feh. 24: About 50,000 ths. of machinery
for smelting works at Wallapai, is lyiug at
the heach, ready for shipment.
Colorado.
Colorado Herald, Feb. 14: At a depth
of 450 ft., Harper’s claim in the California
Lode, carries a crevice of ore that variea
in width from 2 to 4 ft. inthe shaft,
while in the drift running west its entire
length, 140 ft., a crevice of ore haa heen
exposed that averages over 1 ft. in width.
Goop Nerws,—In the Caribou mine, in
the hottom of the main shaft the crevice ia
5 ft. 7 inohes in width of paying ore, 20
inches of which is first-class, worth from
$500 to $700 per ton. On the east shaft
a whim has heen erected and put in operation. From this they are raising a large
amount of fine ore. The teams are delivering about 20 tons per day to tbo mill.
The Carihou mill at Middle Boulder,
has turned out a very handsome lot of bullion. They have shipped shout 12,000
ozs. and have a large amount of amalgam
not yet retorted.
The starting of this mill has given the
dist. a new impetus. Already the ownera
of the Seven-Thirty, the Potosi, the
Boulder Co. and others have sent in a lot
of ore for sale, and others are preparing to
doao. Ben Hines is pushiug work on
the Trojan and crushing his second-class
atthe Hines & MHeizer mill, at Middle
Boulder. The yield is about 7 ozs. per
cord.
Larne Co.—Cor. same: Lode mining is
lively. Work on the Printer Boy, Pilot,
Oro Fino, New Brunawick, ete., is heing
pushed ahead with great vigor. Prospecting ona number of new lodes is heing
carried on with good indications of striking pay.
A. G. Hillis opening the Graut and has
a very fair crevice of quartz. A. Gorman
is driving a tunnel, ond soou expects to
strike 2a lode. Onthe aouth side of California Gulch, Mr. Bugh has started a new
tunnel, with a view of prospecting the hill,
where itis thought there are a numher of
good lodes as yot nnopened. Ahove Oro
City, McCanuon & Demsoy are working a
lode discovered last summer, that prospects big. Henry Mayfield, in Iowa Gulch
is prospecting for lodes. At Granite 20
miles below, C. 8S. Hill has a contract to
sink 50 ft. on the Hatty Jane lode, ono of
the most promising in this locality, A roport is current that the Yankec Blade Co.
intend to resume work soon,
Bovutpver Co.—Cor. Caribou Post, Feb,
20th: ‘Tho Jones lode, on tho uorthwest
sidoof Caribun Hill, is dowu 30 ft. They
have a pay streak of fine mineral 4 inohes
wide. Lobserved 20 sacks of oro, which
assays $200 per ton.
The Grand Review is down 58 ft., and
looking about the same. A numbor of
lodes aro being worked on Idaho Hill, viz:
The Elophant 109 ft. doop, is to be drifted
uponsoon, TheSilvor Point, 28 ft. deep.
Tho Monitor is also boing worked.
The Seven-Thirty has attainod a depth
of 70 ft. ‘Thoy have a pay: stroak 6 inobes
wide of very fino mineral. Ata depth of
35 ft., they have a drift running oast 35 ft.
and « shaft 35 ft. doop in the drift. Tho
second-class ore rnns $500 per ton; thirdclass $100. Itis estimated tbat thoy have
$10,000 worth of ore on hand.
The Trojan lode, at Cardiual, is looking
oxtremely well. They are down 95 ft.,
and drifting. Two different parties are
taking out ore from the Boulder Co.
Our Mrxes.—Same paper, Feh. 17th:
The old Caribou Co. who are working
the East End, have a fine shaft ereoted,
and are taking out rich ore in large quantitiea.
The Sevon-Thirty is being worked with
yery promising and paying results,
The Wabash lode is down noarly 60 ft,
and is looking exceedingly well.
Some of the other lodes that are being
worked on Caribou Hill, are the Stranger,
Grand View, Sweoden, and Jonas lodes.
At Cardinal the Trojan is heing worked.
They are hoisting a large quantity of valuable ore.
Suiprep.—Colorado Miner, Yeh. 22:
Baily & Nott have shipped on account of
owners, during the past week, 20 tons of
smelting ore.
Palmer & Nicholas have shipped 2 bars
valued at $2,260.88.
The Matilda Fletcher lode is yielding
very ricb lst class ore, and large quantitics of 2d class milling ore. A 10 ths. lot
of Ist class ore, treated, gave a yield at
the rate of $12,000 coin per ton.
Maine Lope.—The yield of the Maiue
lode for 8 months, since its discovery, has
been $38,989.32 above expenses.
Goup Hinn.—Caribou Post, Feb, 24: Mr.
Fullen ia working his White Rock lode
this Winter, and Mr. Cort is erecting an
engine house and other buildings on the
Horse-fall.
_ Yesterpay, at the bank of Young & Co.
was seen 855 0z. of gold retort, the Jan.
product of the Leavitt lode Mountain City.
This is valued gt $15,500, and is the product of 105 cords of stamp-mill ore.
Locat Recorp.—In making our trip
this week, we noticed both the ore chutes
of the Oro Fino full of ore. We also
found the ahsft on the Navigation mine
down ahout 140 ft. where it connects with
a drift from the Oro Fino.
The Ida Elmore is heing opened up
fast. The 6th level drift is run 130 odd ft.
north, far enough to get over the rich body
of ore in No. 7.
Idaho.
Buuxion.-Silver City Avalanche, Feb 24:
W.F. & Co. shipped from here this week
3 hars of bullion, valued at $6,468.07.
The Mahogony mine ia turning out some
very fine ore hetweeu the 3d and 4th levels.
The shaft ia down for the 5th level. The
ore house is full of ore which will soon be
hanled to the mill.
The South Chariot 4th level drift is heing run north on the vein. The main
shaft is to he straightened and sunk for
the 5th level.
There are 75 tons of Empire ore at the
Elmore mill which will pay ahout $150 a
ton.
Sovrn Mr.—Cor. aame: The only mines
being worked hore are the Bay State and
Hastings, operations on all others having
beeu suspended on account ofhad weather.
Banner Dist.—Idaho Statesman, Feb.
20: Gardner and Lee are down 30 ft. on
the ledge. The quartz looks hetter, but
has hecome very hard; it all has to he
blasted,
Montana.
St Louris Gutou.—Cor. Helena Herald,
Feb, 22: The Union Co. have recently
struck very rich pay in their ground in
the left forkof Indian creek. From 2pana
of dirt were washed out $10.90. :
The Kelloy Bros. huve a large tract of
mining gronnd, from which thoy are raising a small monntain of grit, over average
in richness. From hence for abont a balf
mile no work is heing done, some of the
ground being worked ont and the remainder not yet drained.
At the head of the drainis the claim of
Easterly & Co., who are pushing ahoad
with tho work fast, and atthe same time
hoisting aud sInicing with profitable results. Passing on down the crock, we
como to tho minos of W. H. Risk, J. Lyons, Collior & Co., H. Winters, and Bnekingham & Co., all of whom are doing woll.
Then wo reach tho works of Tierney &
Co., who aro coming up with the old Diamond drain, with good prospects. All
that is being done horo this winter in tho
way of placer mining.
Juxction.—Cor. Avani Courier, Feb.
15th: At Aldor Guleb nearly all tho fiumo
Cos. are going to inorense their force of
hands, and tho works generally will be
moro enorgetically pushed forward than )
they have for many years past.
At Summit, Covely & Bro. aro tapping
the Keystone 200 ft. deep, and havo ahout
80 tons of fine ore on the dump.
Theroare 14 bed-rock flumes in the gulcb,
most of which have been doing well.
Hart & Caas have their main drain completed, and are making branch drains preparatory to extensive spring oporationa.
At Adohe Town there is more progress
manifest than all the rest of the gulch
combined.
Utah.
Priocur Bunuron.—S. L. Tribune, Feh.
96; W. F. & Co. have received since the
16th inst. 2 twolots of bullion valued at
$126,608.90.
Norra Star Dist.—Cor. aame: I visited
the Shenandoah mine owned hy Schonherg
& Co., who have sunk upon their shaft 50
ft. Tho Co, have some 150 tons of aplendid ore on the dump worth $150 per ton.
The next mine in the immediate vicinity
is the ‘‘Old Hickory,” owned hy Hooker
Cook & Adams. They have got down 40
ft. throngh a rich and very large body of
mineral.
Souta Srar.—Iu this camp are the Taylor and Jupiter lodes, with shafts in ore,
from 80 to100 ft, in depth. The Mt. Vernon and Bibhins are looking well.
Mippie Star contains some of the most
promising ledgea in the Dist.
West Camp is the last discovery. The
ore in this camp is quite free, and can be
easily milled without the interveution of
roasting furnaces. Most of it is of a high
grade. Proapeoting ia heing actively carried on here, as well as throughout the
entire Dist.; and frequent discoveries of
great richness reward the miners.

Wednesday tho 28th ult. amonnted to $3,377,000. The capital stock of the Keystone M.
Co. has been increased to $1,000,000 in 10,000
sharea. Tho Marcelind M. Co. has elected the
following Trustees: S. Heydenfeldt, (Pres.),
C. E. Elliott (See.), C. C. Palmer, P. P. Cunningham and Geo. D. Roberts. The Raymond
& Ely mine sent down on the 29th ult. $33,000,
on the 24, $31,000, and on the 6th inst. $31,200.
The Alameda Coal Mining Co. have eletced the
