Daney Mine.—Gold Hill News, Jan. 18:
Work progress well, nas usnal, in this mine
with fino prospocts ahead. The drift for
tho ledge at tho 500 ft. level in 100 ft. from
the shaft, and the rock works well. At
the 400 ft. level tho main drift cut the
ledge at 270 ft. from the shaft, and the
drift north from it is 95 ft., following the
ledge in fine looking quartz assaying from
$6 to $10 per ton. The prospeots for findinga good hody of pay ore are hetter than

In Mohave Co., a 5-stamp mill is heing

every day.
J. Rush has about made up his mind to
place his little mill on the Hassayampa, at
Walnut Grove, and to work yore from the
Josephine and other lodes, whieh we know

Placer miners are still making something, on Lynx Creek and the Hassayampa.
The Benjamin and its “eister” silver

A. M. Jones, adjoining him on the west,
and started a drift last Tnesday te open up

$11,000. The crevice is from 4 to 6 ft. in
width nnd the ore is very easily mined.
Assay give from $100 to $400 per ton. The
greatest depth reached in tho mine is 200
it. B.S. Bnell has jnst leased the ground
on either side of that worked hy Mellor,
There is avery large quantity of ore in
sight, and the prospects are that the past

Locan Recorp.—Silver City Avalanche,
Jan. 18: The North Oro Fino Discovery
continues to yield 25 to 30 tons per day—
which is worked at the Owyhee Co.’s mill.
A. P. Minear, is running it in eonnection
with the Sonth Oro Fino, helonging to the
Ida Elmore Co. The latter mine is yielding about 25 tons of ore daily. Mr. Minear is also working the North Oro Fino
Co.’s ground through the same shaft, and
has let a contract to rnn the 3d level drift
in the Discovory elaim to the line, whieh
will break through into the 2d level of the
North Oro Fino, where there is already a
large hody of ground opened.
The 7th level drift of the.Ida Elmore is
in about 40 ft. on the rich body of ore
lately diseovered in that portion of the
mine.
tho Co.’s mill next week. The 6th level
drift, in the same mine, is also heing
driven north.
Stoping is actively going on in the Sth
level of the Golden Chariot, where the
vein is over 2 ft. wide and the ore of excellent quality. Next week there will be 500
tons ready for the mill.
The Minnesota mine bids fair to be one
of*the best mines in camp. Drifts are
heing run hoth north and sonth as fast as
possible on a good vein of ore, which is
easily worked in both tho mine and the
mill. Ten stamps of the Elmore mill have
been running on Minnesota ore for the
last 2 weeks. It pays about $60 per ton
ehiefly.
The Mahogany is turuing out richer ore
from its 4th level than was ever before
seen inthatmine. Drifts are being driven
hoth north and sonth' on tho tth level, also
a winze from the 3d level down.
There is quite an exeitement about the
ore in the tth level of the Sonth Chariot,
!which is very rieh. The ore from that
' drift will be worked this week.
Some of the ore will be worked in.
In the War Eagle mine a winze is heing
sunk from tho 2d to the 3d level, ahout 100

Montana M. Co. have leta contract to run
a tunnel to tho Camanehe ledge. Brown
& Go. have n hody of oro 10 ft. wide in the
Tastern Camanche that is considered fair
milling ore. Col. Lyon has started up
his furnace on Speckled Trout ore. ‘The
smelter works well. ‘The oro smelted so
far pays $150 per ton. Estell & Holland
have about 200 tons of first-class ore ready:
to haul to tho mill.
Mri. Creex.—The Vry lodo 11f miles
ahovo the Pioneor Tannery, on Mill Creek,
has been oponed to tho depth of 20 ft. and

tho ‘31 Dorado,” and have heen taking firstclass ore ont 01 hoth shaft and tunnel, and

The ‘‘Minnesota” is being worked hy the
owners, and, is considered to he tho hest
lode in the dist. There are quitoannmher
of miners in camp prospecting and running tunnels, trying to tap lodes they have
discovered heretofore. Among the latter,
are Dr. Brooks & G. Gregorie, whose tunnel, running to one of their late discoveries, hids fair for galena soon. J. Halford is running a tnnnel for the ‘ Self

Gold Eagle, Champion, and the Washington.
Chimney Corner is down on an incline
85 ft., showing, bnnches of chloride ore
which appears to he very rich in silver.
Gold Eagle lias hecn Inying idle for
some time owing to a conflict of titles.
The original owners have, however, resumed work at their discovery shaft with
the view of sinking and drifting throngh
to tho Augusta which is ahout 150 ft. south
of tho original discovery of the Golden
Eagle.
Champion Co. have tapped their ledge
at a depth of 35 ft. in their tunnel, exposing a large hody of gray carhonate and apparently rich iu silver.
The Washingtons areimproyving as work
progresses.
A new discovery was mado last week by
Cex & Linton on Liheral Hill, about 150
ft. east of the Champion mine and probably the riehest diseovery inthe dist. Very
little has been dono and a large hody of
ore is in sight that assays high in silver.

ft. with rich ore. Cricket, very rich.
Lineolu tunnel, Sphynx, Ward Beecher,
Silver Emporinm, etc., all evidently good
mines. The Mariposa, Marvin and other
prospeets, all ehloride ores. On Office
Hill are several good prospects. On Base
Ifill (so ealled) are the Sevier, Veloeipedes 1 and 2, Miner’s Delight, Silver
Shield, Wild Delirium, Hidden Treasure,
Fairview, McCullum, Antclope and others
—all yielding good smelting ore and apparently heavy bodies.

In Dry Caton we have the Fourth of
July, Chicago, Soverign, Kearsarge, Monitor, Silver Eagle, Unelo John, Crown
Point and others. The foothills abound
in rich deposits: and contain several good
leads. Below Ophir are a nnmher of leads
and prospects located by the English Co,
The El Capitan, a mine on Chloride
Hill, io promising well. Ithas a vein of
ore 16 inches in thicknoss, which assays
on nu nverage $300 por ton.
The Clark and Gardener is yielding considerahle ore, which is worth $180 per
ton.
Rioh discoveries have lately been made
on Shoo Fly Hill, consisting of horn and
nativo silver.
Arastras are doing well. One stnrteda few
days ago by Williams £ Co., works up to
70 per cent. of the assay value of tbe ore.
Tho Ophir M.1& S. Co. will start their
furnace again next Monday.
Mr. Akin will have his fnrnace ready
by the last of the month, when itis nnderstood the Pioneer Mill will ngain steam
