IMPORTANT TO
Mining Oompanies, Qivil Engineers, Qontractors, Eto.
The aystem of trausporting material, snch as Ores,
from the mine tothe mill, Earths for embankments,
Rock from quarries, etc. by mosns of stee) wiro rope,
bas heen well tested and found more economical
advantageous and reliable than any other methnd
of transportation; and to the annexed certificates in connection therewith I beg to call the attention of those interested: .
Evnexa, Nevada, July 10, 1872.
T. M. Martin My dear sir: On yonr leaving for San
Francisco, it gives me great pleasure to hand yon my
written acceptance of tho HALLIDIE TRAMWAY put
up by yon upon our mine in Freiburg.
It is a perfact succesa, discharging ten tons of ore per
bour with two men's lahor. lt is perfectly slmple in
construction, and, as far as I can jndge, there is nothing
about it to ever get out of order—notbing to wear out.
While ours requires but about two thousand five bundred feet of wire rope, I can see no reason why the line
could not be extended almost indefinitely with eqnally
happy results. Again, the carrying capacity might be
donhled or qnadrupled ff desired. After several weeks
trial upon our mine, the unanimous verdict of all who
have seen it is a complete, unqnestioned success. If
tbis can be of any service to you, nse it in any way you
think proper. Very respectfully, C.0. GOODWIN,

working condition. I most oheerfully acoept the work tor
the Company, aiid recommend It to others w shing a sure

“The Vallejo worka smoothly with Ihe elevated wire
tramway, which carries its load of ore as qUistly and sasily
ag if there was no wintar or snow in the world.
“Whatever the ohjectlons to wire tramways may be on
aoconnt of their cost, Ihave seen nothing yet that even
approaches them In the taeilitics they afford for moving
ore at all seasons of the year.”—Correspondent Utah Mining Journai, Alts, Jan. 8, 1873. .
