Nine SUMMARY. Tue following ie mostly condensed from journals published in the interior,in proximity to the mines mentioned: California. CALAVERAS COUNTY, Sannerson. — Calaveras Citizen, March 13 : This mine is yielding some extraordinary rich ore, and is likely to continue doing so for en iudefinite time, judging from the handsome appearance of the vein in the lower level. It is the intention of the Company to erect newand owerful hoisling worke, as soon as the weather ecomessettled. They have just finished placing in position © large boiler of sufficient steam capacity to work the mine to a depth of 800 ft. Woxverine. — The mine is opening handsomely, and has every promiee of comparing favorably with our hest minee. Crarx and Woonsvay.—These gentlemen are having piping times, judging from the immense amount of dirt that is daily washed away from Railroad Flat. Their hydraulic is kept constantly Mm motion. Mosquito Disrricr. — Calaveras Chronicle, March 15: The owners of the Dolly Varden are driving a level north at the depth of 100 ft. The ore is over 4 ft. wide, and shows free gold. Some 50 tone of ore from the Monte Cristo, oruehed at the Good Hope mill, yielded i in the neighborhood of $35 per ton. The vein ie from 2 to 4 ft. wide. West Port Disraictr.—The Ohio Con. stopped work for a few days, on account of smashing up the pump, which wae of too weak capacity for the hody of water inthe shaft A
large pump is on its way to the mine, end sinking will be resumed immediately on its arrival. Several new discoveries were made this week on the North Fork ridge, which look very promising. The Lone Star vein is 20 ft. wide in one of the tunnele, and no foot-wall as yet. The ore will mill nhout $25 per ton. Kincaid & Co. cruehed a lot of ore at Harris’ mill, yielding $46 per ton. Joe Griggs & Co. are rolling out high-grade ore pretty lively. Competent, undergrouud miners wanted. Gwin.—Intelligence from this mine continues exceedingly favorable. There ie no diminution of the yield, the average product being over $1,000 per day. The work of sinking the main ehaft 100 feet deeper will he commenced nexi Monday. Suaw.—Work continues steadily iu the old that date, The dates given in this list are those of the OUR MINING SHAREHOLDERS’ DIRECTORY. [CouuaTsp WEEKLY FROM ALL NoticEs ApVERTIaED tn S, F.
