The ore well known to need comment, and it has materially aided in developing onr mines thronghout the Coast by facilitating blacting operations, and therehy increasing the yield of gold. ‘Mininc Summary. THE following is mostly condensed from jonrnala puh lished in the interior,in proximity to tbe mines mentioned AMADOR COUNTY. Kenneny.—Jdackson Zedger, Jan. 4: Work on the new shaft is progressing very finely and the engine, hoiler and machinery are all in position. The mill keeps upitsregular stamping from the upper shaft and turns in about $20,000 per month, Bacon.—The Superintendent ie pushing the work, andthe whim doee its duty with great ease. The sinking of the shaft ie progreseing very finely and the rock at the present depth paesee all expectations. The main ledge is widening and the hanging and footwalls are as well defined, A beautiful helt of fine rihbon rock lays upon the main ledge, and we are told that it proepects very rich. Preparations are heing made for the erection of a fine mill just helow the shaft. CALAVERAS COUNTY. ScizrFarn.—Calaveras Citizen, Jan. 4: This claim is down 106 ft. and keeps its fine appearance. The Superintendent, Mr. Days, informs us that no one can tell, hhow wide the lead ie, ae they have not reached ‘the side walls, owing to their going down all the time, They have enongh in sight to guarantee a mill, which will be erectedin the spring. Hunson.—This claim has cleaned its shaft, . and einking now goes hravely on. WouveERInE.—Calaveras Chronicle, Jan. 4: The main shaft of the Wolverine ie now about 270 ft. deep. The yein, in bottom, is 4 ft. in the stopes, above the 200 ft. level, varies from 2 to 5 ft. in thickness. The new mill, attached to the hoisting works, is running steadily. KERN COUNTY, Sr. Jonn.—Havilah Miner, Dec. 28: From T. D. Bridger, Esq., who is on his way to Sau Francisco, we learn that this mine is paying well. From their last run they cleaned up $45 perton. Inthe bottom of their workings the ledge is now six feet in thickness. Thie ie one of the hest mines in the county, baving never failed to pay a handsome dividend to the proprietors, when worked. The mine is now eplendidly opened, and their 12-stamp mill, lately removed immediately upon the mine, is running day and night. Grizz Acam.—It is understood that the Grizzly minee will be worked as soon as the weather will permit. In this connection we will state that coneiderahle interest is manifeeted in San Francieco iu regard to these mines. Parties are expected here daily to examine them and see for themselves. KeErnvItLE. — We learn that the Sumner mine at Kernville ie crushing and taking out the richeet ore ever seen iu this county. As their levels are heing run and stopes opened, it dieclosee far richer rock than the fortunate shareholders ever expected. McKxapney.—We learn from Mr. Fallahy, foreman of the shove mine, that they are now about 170 ft. deep, and that the ledges Delphi, Countees and Democrat which their level cuts, pay hetter and the veins are larger than on the surface. The Democrat, which they are now working, was not supposed to be worth anything on the surface but at the present depth it is very rich. It is estimated that it will pay as high as $100. The tunnel which Mr. McKeadney i is now working is on the center ledge with a vein on either side running parallel, and in no place are they more than 20 ft. apart. ‘Mr. McKeadney and Col. Rand are the ouly miners who have gone down to any considerable depth on this hill, aud both have
